Giving back to the communities where we work and live is a deeply held value at BPE&H. We are proud that our contributions, leadership and volunteer efforts help create strong communities–providing a better environment for businesses and for our employees. There are many ways you can be a global citizen and give back to your community, or support a local issue that you care about. We all have something to give – money, time, skills, ideas, resources – and every little gesture adds up to make a big impact.

BPE&H joined CalCPA and the Sean Brock Foundation in a charity run which included a 5K run and walk, 10K run and a 1K(ish) kids run.

Event proceeds were split between the Sean Brock Foundation, which awards scholarships to the families of fallen or wounded service members, and the CalCPA Los Angeles Chapter, which awards scholarship to local college/university students studying accounting.  Last year the chapter awarded $30,000 in scholarships!

We have committed to help cure the kids. Our fundraising team ran and walked the Starry Night Los Angeles 8.5K to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation on November 5th. Starry Night is a new event dedicated to shining a light on pediatric brain tumors and taking a stand against one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.  Find out more about this cause by clicking here.

For 25 years, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) has strengthened low-income communities from Long Beach to the mountains and from Montebello to the Ventura County line, covering two-thirds of Los Angeles County. This vast region is comprised of 182 communities, 51 cities, including the City of Los Angeles, and 61 unincorporated areas throughout the County. Together, over 125,000 volunteers and donors have invested more than 1 million service hours building, renovating and repairing over 700 homes. Together, we’ve helped build affordable homes for low-income civilian and veteran families, and provide services that empower them to build brighter futures as homeowners.

The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending childhood hunger a national priority. Born from a strong desire to make a difference, Live Ultimate is passionate about health, balance and well-being. They are dedicated to redefining lifestyle as “healthstyle”, encouraging all to live their best lives in order to experience much more.

CHLA is a provider of more than $232.6 million in community benefits annually to children and families. As the first and largest pediatric hospital in Southern California, CHLA relies on the generosity of philanthropists in the community to support compassionate patient care, leading-edge education of the caregivers of tomorrow and innovative research efforts that impact children at our hospital and around the world. During the holiday season, BPE&H delivers boxes of toy donations collected from our staff, clients and friends.
