Martin Belak-Berger

Martin Belak-Berger

CPA

"One size cannot fit all. We create highly customized planning strategies to suit each client's life structure and goals." Martin is BPE&H’s managing tax partner specializing in tax aspects of closely-held businesses. You'll find that he has a grasp of the most complex tax issues that would make the majority of other accountants seek outside help. What is tedium for most, comes rather easily for Martin. Martin received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Arizona in 1978 and his CPA Certificate in 1988 from the State of California. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the California Society of CPAs. Developing his tax-smart specialty for the past 16 years, he spent ten years as a tax manager at the company's predecessor firms, Block, Good & Gagerman; Good, Gagerman & Berns; and Block, Plant & Eglin. He has been an owner of BPEF& BB since 1992.

Scott Eisner

Scott Eisner

CPA

"Round the clock service, if that's what it takes." Problem-solving is a big part of what Scott Eisner does and of what clients need him to do. He takes a proprietary interest in their dealings and has no trouble making himself available 24 hours a day if necessary. It isn't a workaholic syndrome, he insists. "It's a terrific thing when you're into what you're doing and know you can bring help and clarity to some pretty complex, sticky situations". A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accounting, Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Business Adminstration with a major in Accounting in 1978 and his California CPA Certificate in 1981. He'd been Senior Accountant with Arthur Anderson & Company before becoming an owner of BPEF&BB in 1989.

Scott Howard

Scott Howard

CPA

Scott Howard received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Cal State University Northridge in 1981 after studying business at UCLA. Following graduation, he went to work at Alder, Green and Hasson in Westwood and was there for 5 years. In 1986, Scott joined his father, Leo Howard in the accounting firm Howard & Howard, CPA, Inc. in Encino where they worked for 25 years. For many years, Howard & Howard, would rely on Block, Plant, Eisner to assist them with projects that were too large for them to handle alone. January 1, 2014 brought the merger of the firms into the newly named form BPE&H, enabling Scott to continue to offer clients one on one service with the knowledge and support of a larger practice. Scott’s clients include many that have been with the Howard’s for over 40 years. This loyalty is due not only to the individual attention that is shown to his clients, but also because of Scott’s availability and attention to detail in all aspects of his business.
